The delicate balance achieved between patients, providers, and payers in recent years is critical to the viability of our healthcare system.  It has its foundation in equity, the common goal of eliminating waste and ensuring the delivery or quality healthcare, respect for the patient-doctor relationship, and the need to preserve the value of the provider-payer arrangements as an effective means by which to achieve these ends.  The deliberate, underhanded use of methods to defraud providers of their duly earned fees is a shortsighted and sure way to undermine this difficult to achieve, and very important, equilibrium.
