Paul F. Caliendo, MBA Chariman and CEO
Beginning in 1981, Mr. Caliendo has served as President | CEO of five separate companies in the healthcare industry. Mr. Caliendo, who serves as Chairman and CEO of Preferred Medical Claim Solutions (PMCS), was President | CEO of Health Star Inc., National Health Benefits and Casualty Corp., Three Rivers Provider Network, and First American Health Concepts, Inc.
Over the course of the past three decades, Mr. Caliendo has been instrumental in creating and managing various Preferred Provider Organizations providing products and services to industry leaders who underwrite medical benefits throughout the United States. PMCS, the leader in claim settlement, processes over $ 4 billion in medical claims annually.
After serving three years in the U.S. Marine Corps with two tours in Vietnam where he earned the Purple Heart, the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat "V", the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon, Mr. Caliendo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance from University of California, San Diego and a Master of Business Administration from Post University.
Brian P. Caliendo President/Chief Operating Officer
Brian P. Caliendo joined PMCS in 1999 as one of the original claim negotiators, was named Chief Operating Officer in 2003 and President in 2015. Brian was integral in developing PMCS’ standard operating procedures, products, services and corporate development strategies. His duties and responsibilities have included the hiring, training and management of professional negotiations, provider contracting, provider services, account management, and sales.
Brian remains at the forefront of developing and maintaining PMCS’ supplemental network partnerships made up of the industry’s top local, regional and national PPO’s. During his tenure with PMCS, annual revenue has grown from $5MM to nearly $200MM in the process advance funding over $2 billion dollars to medical providers while saving the payer community hundreds of millions of dollars. Brian received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Arizona State University.
Randy Harmsen Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining PMCS in 2005, Mr. Harmsen was Principal Financial Officer of Rural/Metro Corporation—one of the largest publicly traded, private providers of emergency medical services in the United States with operations in 26 states, over 10,000 employees, and $500 million in revenues. He served as Chief Financial Officer of several hospital systems, including: St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport, Iowa; Presbyterian Healthcare in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Carondelet Healthcare Corporation in Tucson, Arizona. He also worked on the payer side of the industry as CFO for Health Partners of Arizona, and as Vice President of Network Management for United Healthcare of Arizona. Before entering the healthcare field, Mr. Harmsen worked in public accounting for a regional firm in Iowa, where he gained his CPA certification.
As CFO of PMCS, Mr. Harmsen is directly responsible for financial reporting, general accounting, budgeting, and treasury management. Mr. Harmsen received his Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University.
Charlie Trammell, MBA Chief Information Officer
Prior to joining PMCS in 1998, Mr. Trammell was Regional Manager of Dealer Development for General Motors from 1995 to 1998 and directly responsible for financial and strategic analysis for new domestic market ventures. From 1988 to 1995, he held the position of District Sales Manager for General Motors and was responsible for forecasting and distributing to the largest market in the Western United States.
Prior to joining General Motors, Mr. Trammell was Environmental Coordinator for Texaco Refining and Marketing. His responsibilities included implementing hazardous material monitoring systems for the west coast. Mr. Trammell received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University in Marketing and Economics and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in California.
Robert Rath Senior Vice President
Since March 2000, Mr. Rath has served as Senior Vice President and Senior Compliance Officer with PMCS. Prior to joining PMCS, Mr. Rath spent more than 25 years in the Third Party Administration (TPA) industry. During that period, he served as President of three major Third Party Administrators, all of which were headquarted in the Western United States. His responsibilities included management of daily operations, marketing, customer service, and product development.
Mr. Rath is well-respected within the industry, evidenced by the fact that he was called to serve on the Board of Directors and as President of the Independent Administrator Association of California, as well as on the Board of Directors of the Society of Professional Benefit Administrators (SPBA), a national organization.
Chad Burdette Executive Vice President
Chad Burdette joined PMCS in 2003 as a regional claim manager and has worked within several departments during his time with the company. Chad was named Vice President of Operations in 2010 and Executive Vice President in 2016. His duties and responsibilities include the oversight of daily operations, management of professional negotiations, provider contracting, provider services, and PMCS' supplemental network partnerships.
His attention to detail and professional skills allow him to focus on quality improvements and drive efficiencies within the organization. Chad has a strong hands on understanding of the internal operations and continues to support the company with the expansion of team member training and development, standard operating procedures, and infrastructure. He is a licensed Independent Adjuster for Accident and Health in the state of New York. Chad received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Accounting from the University of Phoenix.
Derek Caliendo Vice President Account Management
Derek Caliendo, who also serves as Vice President, Account Management of PMCS, spent more than 15 years in the hospitality industry where he developed his professional skills and experience necessary in an industry that demands personal attention to every detail. Mr. Caliendo has taken those skill sets and incorporated them into the management role he holds at PMCS, an organization made up of very sophisticated and knowledgable clientele requiring continual reporting in addition to the introduction of the products and services made available by the Company.
Mr. Caliendo's background includes human resources and staff and management training, as well as direct oversight of departmental development. Mr. Caliendo majored in Hotel Restaurant Management and minored in communications while attending Arizona State University.
Ryan Reedy Information Technology Director
Mr. Reedy joined PMCS in early 2003. He has more than 15 years experience in the Information Technology field, including managing and developing applications for growing businesses as well as Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Reedy’s background includes development of audio/visual, human resources and personnel, imaging, document workflow, ANSI X12 EDI, web, and accounting applications. In addition, he has done database architecture, implementation and administration, network engineering and system administration. Prior to joining PMCS, he helped develop a claim processing application for a government agency.
Susan Larimer Executive Assistant
Prior to joining PMCS in 1998, Ms. Larimer was employed by National Health Benefits and Casualty Corporation as Executive Assistant to Paul F. Caliendo, President/CEO. She was previously employed in the automotive industry for more than ten years with a background in Administration and Customer Service.
Since joining PMCS, Ms. Larimer’s duties have included Human Resource Administration, Office Management, as well as her current position as Executive Assistant.
